OCD is driven by a cycle that begins with an intrusive thought or image and ends with a compulsive behaviour that provides temporary relief but ultimately reinforces the cycle.
Anxiety is one of the most common, and most misunderstood, mental health experiences. It is not a personality flaw, a sign of weakness, or something you simply need to push through.
Mood disorders are real, diagnosable, and highly treatable. They are not character weaknesses, failures of willpower, or something you simply need to 'snap out of'.
Grief is one of the most profound human experiences and one of the least understood. We expect it to follow a sequence. We expect it to end. We expect to “get over it” within a culturally acceptable window of time.
Burnout is not weakness. It is not laziness. It is what happens when a capable, committed, hardworking person gives more than their system can sustain for too long, without adequate rest, recovery, or recognition.
Trauma is not defined by what happened to you. It is defined by what happened inside you as a result. Healing from trauma is possible. It does not mean erasing what happened. It means reaching a place where the past no longer hijacks your present.
For many adults, a diagnosis comes after decades of feeling different without being able to name why. Decades of being told you are lazy, scattered, too much, or not living up to your potential.
It often develops gradually, from early experiences of criticism, comparison, rejection, or unmet emotional needs. But they are not facts. They are stories. And stories can be rewritten.
Occupational stress is not a sign that you are not cut out for your career. It is a sign that your system is responding to demands that have exceeded sustainable limits.
